Blepharoplasty, or eyelid tightening surgery, is a cosmetic eye plastic surgery procedure to remove this excess skin and fat from the upper and lower eyelids. Drooping, “saggy” upper eyelids, and puffy bags under the eyes can make you look sad, tired, and older than your age. In fact, excessive upper eyelid tissue may even interfere with your vision.
In many cases, upper eyelid blepharoplasty may be performed simply under local anesthesia. Patients are usually able to return to low-stress normal activities within 2-3 days. Bruising and swelling typically lasts about one week, and sutures are removed in about ten days.
