Stephen F. Lex, M.D., has practiced in Flagstaff since 1989. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is Board-Certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. Dr. Lex did his residency in general surgery at Western Reserve Care System in Youngstown, Ohio, and his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. In addition, Dr. Lex has a postgraduate fellowship in pediatric plastic, microsurgery, and craniofacial surgery from the Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix. Dr. Lex sees patients in Flagstaff, Sedona, Cottonwood, and Kingman. 

Steve Lex began his plastic surgery practice in Flagstaff in 1989. Having a keen interest in outdoor wilderness activities and a love for western landscapes, he was drawn to Flagstaff. Here he could establish the general plastics practice he sought, in the midst of the beauty of Northern Arizona and the Colorado Plateau country.  Seeking a partner to join him in practice, he immediately thought of Dr. Jack Quigley, with whom he had become close friends while the two of them were plastic surgeon residents together in Youngstown, OH. Dr. Quigley joined Dr. Lex in Flagstaff in 1991 and together they formed Plastic Surgeons of Northern Arizona. 

Married for over thirty years, Dr. Lex has four grown children and two grandchildren. In his spare time, he is very active in a number of outdoor pursuits, including white water kayaking, backpacking, mountain biking, and hunting.

Dr. Lex finds great fulfillment in his work and feels that it is a privilege to live and work in such a wonderful community and setting.
