Brian A. Cripe, M.D., is a board-eligible plastic and reconstructive surgeon who joined the Plastic Surgeons of Northern Arizona Staff in August of 2022. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery. Dr. Cripe specializes in cosmetic surgery, limb salvage, peripheral nerve microsurgery, hand surgery, and oncologic reconstructive procedures. He has performed over 5,000 surgical cases during his eight-year career as a surgeon.

Dr. Cripe moved from Roanoke, VA after completing his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Virginia Tech – Carilion Clinic, where he served as Chief Resident. During residency, Dr. Cripe authored multiple scientific articles and textbook chapters and presented research at conferences nationwide. Dr. Cripe grew up in Michigan and attended Michigan State University, where he was a National Merit Scholar and received bachelor’s degrees in both zoology and journalism. He attended medical school at the University of Queensland School of Medicine, completing clinical training at Ochsner Clinical School in New Orleans. He graduated with honors in 2014.

Dr. Cripe is a multisport endurance athlete, who enjoys mountain biking, triathlons, rock climbing, scuba diving, and trail running. He is also an accomplished photographer, with prior experience including leading expeditions throughout the world.

The variety of practice afforded at PSNA drew Dr. Cripe and his family to the Flagstaff area. His prior trauma and reconstructive experience led him to seek a diverse work environment. “Plastic surgery is unique in that it both addresses functional needs and can help restore patient confidence, which is what drew me to the field.” 

Dr. Cripe and his wife have been enjoying the beautiful setting and abundant outdoor opportunities that Flagstaff has to offer, and are expecting their first child in 2023. They are delighted at the prospect of raising their family in Flagstaff.
