Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to oversee the nursing operations within our facility. This leadership role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in OR and PACU functions. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for managing personnel functions, directing day-to-day staff use, performing regular nursing duties, reviewing surgery case schedules, participating in Med/Exec/BOD meetings, and ensuring adherence to medical protocols. This position assures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations as well as AAAHC standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care delivery.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policy and procedure and infection control manuals.
- Oversee compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of medical records.
- Manage nursing administration tasks, including documentation review and shift management.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems for accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Ensure that all nursing practices align with established policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular assessments of patient needs and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Maintains awareness of any State or Federal regulatory changes affecting ASCs.
- Facilitate communication between families and healthcare providers to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients by adhering to safety protocols.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in OR/ASC settings.
- Strong management skills with previous supervising experience in a healthcare setting.
- Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certificate.
- Proficient in using EMR/EHR systems for effective nurse management and medical records maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team collaboration and patient-centered care.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
