Every day, the muscles in your forehead get a lot of work laughing, crying, worrying, and sleeping. All of this stretching, and contracting can take a toll on the face, resulting in vertical “frown” lines above the eyes, prominent forehead creases, sagging eyebrows, and crows feet. A forehead/brow lift can minimize these visible signs of aging, making you look more rested, happy, and youthful.
At Plastic Surgeons of Northern Arizona, our surgeons use the latest techniques such as the endoscopic brow lift, and the transblepharoplasty brow lift. In the endoscopic approach, 4-6 small incisions are placed behind the hairline. The underlying forehead muscles, and tissues are then lifted, repositioned, and anchored to the bone. The advantage of this technique is that there are few, if any, of the adverse side effects associated with a traditional brow lift such as numbness, scarring or hair loss. In the transblepharoplasty approach, an incision is made in the upper eyelid, and a small, absorbable device is then used to attach the tissue of the forehead to a higher spot on the brow bone. This approach is almost always done in conjunction with a blepharoplasty or upper eyelid lift with very minimal scarring. With both techniques, patients can usually resume normal activities within a week, and exercise within two weeks.
Forehead/brow lifts are popular with men and women of all ages, and are performed at Northern Arizona SurgiCenter, our privately owned, fully licensed, certified and AAAHC-accredited ambulatory surgery center located in the lower level of the Plastic Surgeons of Northern Arizona building in Flagstaff.
