Drooping, wrinkled upper eyelids, and puffy bags under the eyes can make you look sad, tired, and older than your age, and in the case of the upper lids, might even interfere with your vision. Blepharoplasty, or cosmetic eyelid surgery, is a procedure to lift and remove the excess skin and fat from the upper lid, lower lid, or both with dramatic results.
In an upper lid blepharoplasty, the surgeons lift and remove your drooping skin, hiding the incision in the fold of the upper lid. In a lower lid blepharoplasty, the surgeons remove the excess skin and/or the herniated fat, hiding the incision below the lash line or inside the pink part of the lower lid. This procedure results in a brighter, more rested, and more youthful appearance. While most often done to correct the effects of aging, blepharoplasty is performed on adults of all ages, and is often used to treat people in their 20’s or 30’s who suffer from genetically inherited puffy eyes. All of your treatment options will be discussed with you in detail during your initial consultation.
Blepharoplasty surgery is performed at Northern Arizona SurgiCenter, our privately owned, fully licensed, certified, and AAAHC-accredited ambulatory surgery center located in the lower level of the Plastic Surgeons of Northern Arizona building in Flagstaff.
