CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting, or cryolipolysis, is a safe and effective option for spot-treating multiple fatty areas without the need for incisions or anesthesia. Patients can expect to see a reduction of up to 25% in the targeted areas within one to three months of treatment, according to clinical studies.

Our highly experienced, board-certified plastic surgeons have performed thousands of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. We invite you to book a consultation to discuss your goals and treatment options.

What to Expect

While some other treatments may require surgery and downtime for recovery, CoolSculpting targets clumps of fat cells close to the surface. The technology cools the target area, causing the fat cells to freeze and begin degrading while the other tissues, including your skin and blood vessels, remain healthy and unaffected.

In each session, multiple areas can be treated simultaneously, such as the submental area (neck and chin), upper arms, abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs, banana roll, bra fat, and knee area.

Clinical studies have shown that CoolSculpting can reduce the amount of fat in treated areas by up to 25% after a single treatment session. Over time, the body naturally eliminates these dead fat cells, leading to a reduction in the volume of fat in the treated area. Treated fat cells are permanently destroyed and eliminated by the body.

The procedure is relatively quick and painless, and recovery is hassle-free. The procedure typically takes around one hour per area treated, and most people can return to their normal activities immediately after the treatment. While some people may experience some mild discomfort during the treatment, it’s generally considered to be a relatively painless procedure. The most common side effects include temporary numbness, redness, and swelling in the treated area, which typically resolves within a few days.

CoolSculpting FAQs

Good candidates for CoolSculpting are people who are close to their ideal weight but have specific areas of stubborn fat that they want to eliminate. BMI is also a consideration.
Most people do not find CoolSculpting to be a painful procedure, although some people may experience some mild discomfort. You may feel intense cold before the areas become numb and a tugging or pulling sensation.
The length of a CoolSculpting treatment depends on the number of areas being treated. Each area typically takes about one hour to complete. You can treat up to four areas at a time, so the maximum length of your treatment will be four hours.
The body needs time to naturally eliminate and remove the dead adipose cells. It can take several weeks to see the full results.
The number of CoolSculpting treatments needed depends on the individual and the amount of fat being targeted. In some cases, multiple treatments may be necessary.

The most common side effects of CoolSculpting include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, and numbness in the treated area. These side effects typically resolve on their own within a few days to a few weeks.
