Breast Augmentation is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgical procedures at Plastic Surgeons of Northern Arizona. Designed to enhance the size and shape of a woman’s breasts, breast augmentation may be performed for a variety of reasons, such as:
• To improve body contour, enhancing the balance in a woman’s figure by increasing the fullness and projection of the breasts.
• To correct a noticeable size difference between the two breasts.
• To restore breast volume and firmness that are often lost after pregnancy or weight loss.
• As a reconstructive procedure following breast cancer surgery or loss of a breast due to accident or injury.
• To achieve a better fit in clothing, increasing a woman’s fashion choices and self esteem.
Breast augmentation surgery entails the placement of either silicone gel or saline implants through an incision typically located under the crease of the breast, or in the armpit. The size and type of the implant will be decided by you and the surgeon during your initial consultation.
The surgery is performed on an outpatient basis, under general anesthesia at Northern Arizona SurgiCenter, our privately owned, fully licensed, certified, and AAAHC-accredited ambulatory surgery center located in the lower level of the Plastic Surgeons of Northern Arizona building in Flagstaff. Recovery time depends on the patient, but most are driving within four to five days with a full recovery in about three weeks.
